Did you see us in the news?
We really didn’t want you to.
Temecula, California, used to be a quiet, family-oriented city with an excellent public school system. Not perfect, mind you, but solid. Solid enough to attract families to move here—specifically for the schools—for at least the last 35 years.
Now we’re suddenly in the news, one of those school districts where school board meetings are filled with angry yelling and require a dozen Sheriff’s Deputies to keep order. Where normal district business is ignored in favor of pushing personal views and pet curricula.
This isn’t what we want.
We want the school board to pay attention to the important things: educating our children, supporting good teachers and staff, spending money where it matters.
So what’s the truth?
What you see on social media or watch or read in your news outlets may or may not be what’s really happening here in Temecula. That’s why we started this space on Substack: to give you factual information about what’s going on in the Temecula Valley Unified School District.
We live here, we pay taxes here, our children and grandchildren go to school here. We have a vested interest in making sure our local schools are well governed.
We’ll report on school board actions, and when we have opinions about those actions, we’ll let you know they’re opinions. This is not a space for rancor or extremism. We won’t yell at you, and we’d appreciate your not yelling back.
Instead, let’s all work together to make Temecula boring again.
